Director's
Commentary
Poor
old Simon Paceman hasn't really come far since I sketched him
down for the first time. Unbelievably, this is one of those first
times that I've actually thrown out a character that isn't some
kind of cliche self insertion. It seems all writers/creators/artists
or rather, hacks, tend to rely on creating a main character that
is essentially themselves but I've managed to avoid it this time.
The
original concept of Spaceman was actually that he had a fairly
square head, was a real tough guy and that the comic would have
bold black lines. Some how only the last element stuck and so
we instead have the fairly rotund utterly inept Simon Paceman
instead of his much feared never created counterpart.
